UAE (linux) and Jabberwocky crash
Hi All,
I use the same setup on a Windows and Linux. I copied the Workbench and Work folder from one HD to the other, so it is the same software that I am running. But on the Winuae I can use all the internet application like AmiTRade or Jabberwocky etc with no problem, on UAE I can only use AWeb. So in a way my internet works, but when I try to use Jabberwocky, as soon as I try to register or to login it completely crashes my machine. It freezes completely. I have tried the original UAE that came with AF2006 and with the new SDL-UAE but same result. Any idea guys? thanx BiL0 |

I think so.
The version number of the linux UAE used does matter a lot, btw, so please specify! Moreover, UAE and E-UAE are two different things. The original UAE (Linux) project is closed and UAE (with its "inventor" Bernd Schmidt as the main developer) is no longer developed. E-UAE (currently: 0.8.29 (pre-release)) is an ambitious takeover project from Richard Drummond and can be found here: http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/ You can say Richard a big "thank you" that Linux users still have a current UAE to play with. |

Hello andreas,
Quote:
http://uae.coresystems.de/ makes no mention of that, yet it was last updated eight days ago (30 May, 2006). The latest UAE source code available there is less than a year old and includes changes imported from EUAE and WinUAE. |

@andreas
I am not sure of the version that I ususally use (is there a way to find out?) I sue the one that comes with AF2006. However I even tried to use e-uae_0.8.28_linux-i586_sdl but with the same effect. I fould however the UAE from AF2006 more stable then this one. but it could beonly due to config. Is there a way to attach a config? or should I just copy and paste it in here? thanx all for replying BiL0 |

Heheh, they can't even spell Bernd's surname correctly [edit] OK, looked in some old logs. Bernd Schmidt in person has removed the outdated and buggy "Fast Copper" code on July 16 2005, so you are right there is a little fervor, but no real fire (yet) Yes it's true...UAE project *HAS* been put on hold from Bernd Schmidt's side for (afair) several years, but that was BEFORE the summer of 2005. Time flies Last edited by andreas; 11 June 2006 at 05:01. |
