Does anyone know where I can get hold of a program where I can make classic tunes?
I've been dying to get hold of a program which can let me create trance tracks to my own taste. Thanx Zeewolf |

If are always using the real mode Dos and you have a Gus, prefer FT2 (who is the best).
else, use modplug tracker, who is working under windows. |

if it is classic tunes...
..you´re after then go for the jch editor for the c64. Thats a real killer. Look after it on the net, a real kick*** program. On the amiga go for the ahx editor (if you intend to use it in a game or demo) or the musicline editor if you just want oldschool musicmaking with modern power. I think FT2 and it´s relativs on the pc just makes the whole things dull. Try out buzz if you got a chance.. it´s old school meets hightech.. sort of. Kind of ahx for the modern age maybe..
//Please stop direct signature ! use UserCP instead "protrackers 4 tracks will always kick FT2-butt, even with it´s eyes blinded" |

I will make this Amiga related and recommend you using one of the following:
- ProTracker (typical mod tracker) - Future Composer (samples + Synth ) - Octamed Studio (same as above, similar interface to Protracker) - MusicLIne Editor (AWESOME tracker+synth) - AHX (To make C64-like chiptunes) I use teh last two every time, they are IMO the best music programs done for the Amiga |

BTW, Acid pro for the PC is only good if you want to do loop-based music. For other tasks, you will need more progs, or a more complete pack, like Cubase VST.

Has anyone on here ever used the TFMX program? It has been used to create, IMHO, some of the best Amiga music to date. I have the program but have never used it before.

Yes Tqist, I have used a bit of TFMX, but not enough. It seems to be one great program!
On the PC the only tracker I like is FastTracker, it has that oldschool protracker feel. Screamtracker/Impulsetracker is the biggest pile of turd I have ever used. |
