Hex Comp

Maybe a stupid question!
I am using a Hex comparison tool in Windows to compare NDOS TOSEC disks.
Sometimes it happens, that the tool cant find any difference in the ADF, althought the crc32 is different.
Whats the (simple) reason?

Either your comparison tool or the tool you use for crc32 calculation has a bug. Or both.

The reason could be that some file comparison tools have an option for ASCII or binary comparison. It is possible for two files to show no differences under ASCII comparison, but they will be revealed in binary comparison.

If there is no menu option for this, and the comparator displays Hex and ASCII windows, make sure the cursor is in a Hex window when invoking the comparison feature.
