Smile [half OT] Good news! Winamp 5.0x no longer interferes with WinUAE (fullscreen)!

[yes, a bit OT, but not that OT to be worth pushing into Off-Topic imho ]

Winamp has always had the option "Always on top", so that the Winamp window never gets 'buried' under a decent pile of explorer windows.
However, this can evoke some special problems, e. g. if WinUAE is used in full-screen mode.

Hence, new Winamp 5 has added a well-disguised option to stop the annoying behavior causing Winamp to pop up even if full-screen apps are active.
This would cause WinUAE to temporarily exit to Winamp, which can sometimes be extremely annoying, given you're in the middle of a strenuous fight or battle.
You could switch off 'Always on top' entirely, but that's not what you intend to do, is it.

Winamp has now dealt with this problem:

In General Preferences, look on the very bottom:

"Disable always on top while fullscreen applications are focused".

This will cause Winamp to always stay on top, EXCEPT when a full-screen application (e. g. an emulator) is active, Winamp will ignore the 'always-on-top' option!

Did I talk explicitly about demos or games?
It was just an example. I also mean people who occasionally WORK with WinUAE (ok, I'd better factor you out here ) in full-screen mode (WB!), and who had to switch off 'always-on-top' option every time when they wanted to run a full-screen app (not exclusively limited to Winamp, mind you).

I do. It can add quite a bit to the enjoyment of playing some games, especially if they only use in-game sound FX anyway (SWIV). You can play a remix of the original tune or anything else suitable while playing. I play various remix from remix.kwed.org on most games and use mp3s from the soundtrack of "Gone in 60 seconds" while playing oldies like Moon Patrol Its fun, don't knock it. I remember PCclone owners years ago asking me why I'd bother playing mods while using workbench instead of just using a radio/stereo/etc. They'd laugh at the idea of an app like WinAMP back then.
