Epyx games for cell phone
In case you haven't heard of it yet, some Epyx titles are now being remade for cell phones.
That's all. |

Talking of cell phone games, Does anyone know if cannon fodder and sensi soccer ever get ported to mobile phones?
I read an article last summer that Jon Hare and a few of the guys from the Bitmap Brothers had formed a company to port/create games for mobile phones, but i've not read/heard anything about it since. |

Ive got sensible soccer on my phone and it's total sh*t!! Definitely wouldn't recommend it. Nothing like the classic Amiga version. (Though did I really expect it too, just hoped I think!)

I had the lucky privelege of playing Sensi Mobile before it was released on Jon Hare's phone!
The downside was I wasn't overly impressed. To me, the guy is a legend. He asked my honest opinion so I had to tell him it wasn't as good as I expected. I still feel rotten to this day. The frame rate is poor and the controls are spoilt by the peculiar diagonals system. I see it as the fault of the hardware more than the game itself, which Mr. Hare wanted to stress. But I feel that with the next generation it will be too late for Sensi again as people will be expecting 3D with the next gen of phones. But by that point we should be able to emulate on our handsets. |

Gaming in a cellphone really sucks. Besides the novelty of seing games run in your cellphone, it's nothing else. They're really unplayable.
I got a T68i which can't have games downloaded to, but the simple games it comes with are hard to play, even with its little joystick interface (no diagonals. wtf?). I still love my little phone, it's very handy. If i want to game, I take my NeoGeo Pocket Color on the road, fuck the cellphone ;P |

Gaming on cell phones is not that bad! I love it. However, it is (currently) only suited to certain types of game, and you need to recognise that before you waste loads of money trying duff ones like I have. Yes, the no diagonal thing is a bit pants (though some games get round it by using the '1' and '3' keys). I think the biggest flaw with current phones (well, at least on my Motorola E398) is actually not being able to press one button at a time. AHH!!
Rainbow Six 3 is a great demonstration of what you can do on a phone, and do it right. Almost a perfect mobile phone game. Another great game is Ancient Empires, perfectly suited to mobiles. Might and Magic is also a good example, shame the difficulty curve is completely stupid on that one though. A really nice game, but let down by not being able to press one button at a time is Colin McRae 04 (Super Cars II plan view, NOT the crappy 05 version). I can just about make the second level, but not being able to brake while turning makes it impossible on that dirt... (at least for me). Other good games suited to mobiles are: Puzzle Bobble Caveman I have played some more, but I will have to remember what they are. I'll add them here when I think of them. |

Cannon Fodder is not out yet unfortunately. It was announced ages ago, but still no real sign
Some of those other games look nice However, I would generally put platform games into the "not yet ready for mobiles" heap... |

Can you press more than one button at a time? (perhaps it is just my phone that sucks) Or is the game designed so you don't need to?

In that case NOBODY BUY A MOROTOLA E398
Stupid thing. Fancy not allowing pressing more than one button at one time in games. Sheesh. Otherwise a nice phone. |

Depends on your phone I guess, because I can get a good 4-5 hours on my playing games...
That doesn't surprise me much though, I think the current generation of phones are designed for people who "play the odd game". |

Why not just get a GBA, I ask?
I like to have my calendar and phonebook in the cellphone (have them sync' ed with my notebook) but thats a far as i go. from time to time i compose a ringtone in it, or play a game. I would have bought a much newer cellphone if I was into gaming with them. |

Games emulated with mame can be good on cellphones as well - at least the old ones work just fine.
And they are all better than the usual cellphone trash made by elementary school dropouts according to their quality and competence. |
