What are games worth?
I'm getting rid of my old Amiga games, for a couple of reasons...
1. I don't have a FDD-based Amiga to use them in (only a CD32) 2. I need the money! Is there a site that lists what games are worth, or should I just post my list here? Will either sell here or on eBay, haven't decided yet. |

The ideal answer is "Games are worth the amount people are willing to pay". The best example of this would be Moonstone (see eBay Moonstone threads). That game fetches quite a bit. Personally, I'm a sucker for the Last Ninja series. It's all up to the buyer.
If you haven't already done so, perhaps you could contribute to CAPS, then sell them off? Slightly related: A year or 2 ago (way before HOL was opened), I talked with Twist about putting a rarity scale somewhere for Amiga games (much like http://www.atariage.com). I can't remember his answer, but I'd still love to see this, even if it does take another 3 years to build |

Rarity meter
The rarity meter is going into HOL - RCK just needs some time to code it. It's a relatively simple one so as to avoid the "I think Lotus 1 should be rarity 6 not 7 out of 10" type discussions.

All depends on what you have, if its complete in box, if your selling a bulk lot or individual, and the people who run into it when its on sale.
I have seen games on ebay sell all over the place week after week. I picked up quite a few mint boxed amiga games from 1 guy early this year for $2-3 each. Same games individually can sell for $10 or more on ebay or not sell at all. Unless you need the money I would just offer the lot to an amiga enthusiast in your area for a decent sum and have them pick it up. This is unless you have some rarity. If you have to ship it might as well go ebay but its alot of work taking pictures and going to the post office for each one that sells, whats your time worth to you? |

Well... I have one copy of AD&D Collector's Edition that someone has offered me US$100 for (holding for him until after christmas)... and have acquired another copy that will probably go to him too...
Other games I have: Complete in box: Ultima V Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday Dragon Strike Death Knights of Krynn Castles Space Crusade Projectyle Battle Chess Megatraveller 1 AMOS (Yes I know, not a game... ) Fantastic Worlds compilation (MegaLoMania, Pirates, Populous, Realms, Wonderland) The Thrill Of Winning Adventure Pak (Keef the Thief, Bard's Tale 2, Starflight, Swords of Twilight) With manual but no box: Flashback [edit] Just the disks: The Hound Of Shadow Baron Baldric Budokan Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles New York Warriors Platoon The Hunt For Red October Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back RBI Baseball 2 Jack Nicklaus' Greatest 18 Holes Of Major Championship Golf Sim City Action Fighter Maybe others, but that's all I can find right now... As to contributing to CAPS, well I can't take images of them myself (like I said, I don't have an Amiga anymore). I could send them to someone else to do... If I have a CAPS-worthy item in the list, let me know & I'll think about it... Last edited by Adeptus; 22 December 2003 at 00:44. |
