Playing WHDLoad games from CD-ROM

Is it possible to play WHDLoad games on a real Amiga from a CD-ROM?

I gather a lot will probably work, but what about games that need write access - is it possible to save the changes to HD (similar to that used by WinUAE for CAPS releases)?

WHDLoad detects a ReadOnly medium and if a game is started from it silently ignores all write operations. That means no highscores or savegames will be saved.
If you try to save something from the game it seems to save (from the games point of view) but WHDLoad will not write anything.

I never knew that!
