Amiga Action Replay MKIV (A1200-3000)

Hi here is LORD OLAF
i just want to tell you then even MKIV was finished with full 020-030 support it was never released as the time for AMiga was over
I looked on my PC to release to you the source so you can include it in WINAUE but its in my A3000 which is now in my trash room and I dont want to activate it again

real sad as MKIV was real kickass
improved hardware and full 1200-3000 support
hdd support (i dont know anymore if mkiii had hdd support)
lots of new features
from our testruns it worked to extreme well that mkIII looked crap vs it
but it turns out that AMIGA was finished so it was never released

when i feel strong enough to reactivate my a3000 again i will upload the full source and binary

Welcome Olaf,

was that done for Datel too? If yes, did they decide to not produce it and was that after they did the AR A1200 or before? Was there a hardware prototype? Where did it connect to?

Yes, but to which connector? (Trapdoor slot? SPU slot?)

Welcome! By the time I wanted an ARIII, there was no longer an importer for my country. I ended up building my own freezer a few years later.

Back to this question, Alain Malek/Hornet worked on the AR1200. So is it correct to assume that model was done prior to the ARIV? Thanks!

Cool! Did you do everything on your own, i.e. hardware and also the software for it?

My question was for demoniac, I know that you and Mr.Zanger developed Action Replay.

I think Datel seriously misjudged the market to be honest. Still plenty of people would have bought it to make it financially viable.

I had to make do with the hacked AR3 by Blackhawk, nightmare to use, although the pro version that was relocatable was better.

Do you also have old (AR1 to 3) ROM images (release versions)? Including first 4 "hidden" (AR2+3 only) bytes?

You also did the ProAccess freezer, right?

I remember reading Boehm & Zanger as the manufacturers of that one, but never thought about the names or connected it to the makers of the Action Replay with that until today even though I always saw the names on the boot screen of my AR3

It was tested in some German magazines early 1990 and is mentioned in the Amiga Katalog 1990, but I never knew one having that. It had an interesting case design

Was that similiar to the Action Replay 1 as that one was released very soon after the ProAccess? Was there any other version released than 1.17? How many did you sell (not many I guess as almost no one knows about that one)? Do you have ROM images of that one too for Toni?

I still talk to the Datel dudes now and again.

I designed the underlying hardware, and the concept of their XSATA for the XBOX 360.

I also designed them the hardware and firmware for a 120Gig hard-disk replacement for the 360 which could use cheap generic brand hard drives and supported paging for bigger drives but they never seemed interested.
