Configuring Mouse movement with Joy Controller

Hi Toni,

I have mapped out Up,Down,Left,Right Mouse movement to Joy Up,Down,Left,Right on the Right Stick of my Xbox Controller which works ok, Though it seems the cursor moves way to fast.

... Is there a way to slow this down?

... And or can we also map angled direction of mouse movement to make the movement with Joystick smoother and more accurate?

There is joy-mouse speed boxes in Input panel.

What do you mean by angled direction?

EDIT: Ah, you mapped directions that way. Use GamePorts panel to set the pad as a mouse and then check automatically generated mappings. This is probably what you want. Not 1:1 digital button mappings.

Yes That worked Speed=1 was slowest, 5 Seem to be reasonable. Thanks.

Unfortunately I have to use Configuration #1 which is set as my Xbox Controller.

X-,X+,Y-,Y+ is configured as my Mouse1 Left, Right, Up, Down as my Right Analogue Stick on My xbox controller.

When I meant more accurate, i was saying that 4 direction movement with analogue stick for mouse movement feels very square & robotic movement.

To rectify this I am thinking is it possible to say....

[X- & Y-] options in input source so it can be mapped out to [Mouse1 Left & Right] to possible smooth out the mouse movement with analogue stick?

I meant temporarily using it to find out how it configured pad stick as analogue to mouse controller. Your current method is digital stick to mouse which is usually not what you want.

Use this:

X Axis -> Mouse1 Horizontal
Y Axis -> Mouse1 Vertical

I don't see Mouse1 Horizontal or Mouse1 Vertical in the drop down list?

Only Mouse1 Left, Right, Up & Down?

Did you select analog stick axis (X Axis, Y Axis or Z Axis, X Rotation or Y Rotation)? (X Axis [+] etc are on/off digital variants)

Only analog events can be mapped to Mouse horizontal/vertical.

As Toni just said, using those [+] and [-] are the wrong digital way. The correct "Axis" and "Rotation" ones are on the top of the list.

Technically those +/- events could support analog too but it would be almost same as already existing horizontal/vertical (when would you need for example moving analog stick to left to do something else than moving it right..)

@Toni

I have a many uae configs saved on my external hard drive in my configuration folder. The mouse mapping custom settings that I map my right joy stick seem to not stick when used on a other pc from where they were created on.

When I transfer my external hdd to another pc. These 4 custom mouse to joy mappings dissapear in the input tab when I load a game.?

Yet on the PC they were created on stick..

How can this be, when the uae file clearly shows all 4 custom mouse mappings?

Does my setting for my joystick input tab which is Configuration #1 (microsoft xbox one controller) have an effect anything to do with the issue?

By the way the other issue with the robotic feel of mouse movement with right stick still remains the same when you use xy as mentioned by you. But I've got used to it now so all good there.
