Exclamation Display Problems with WinUAE 0.9.92

I am running winuae0.9.92 on windows me and with direct x 8.1 the pixel test works but when i try and load anything the screen displays all manner of magenta or green lines all across the screen(including the desktop)and hangs! I caN get it to run in a window but also is prone to crashes. I also have this problem with mame32 but nothing else! is it direct x or my graphics card (geforce 440) any help would be great as is driving me mad! I have used direct x 9c but this gave the same probs!!! Please Help!!!

This clearly seems to be display driver problem. Driver version? Windows? (W9x/ME or 2K/XP) Also attach your winuaebootlog.txt.

Try ticking "Don't use RGB overlays"-checkbox in misc-panel. Try also different color depth-settings (both WinUAE and Windows desktop)
