Garbled Icon Behaviour

OK, not entirely sure whether this is a winuae problem or my setup but with my poorly A1200, i am unable to check.

Since i am no fan of P96, i installed FBlit which i know comes highly reccommended. It works fine, except if i have transparency turned on in the Newicons prefs. The icons load and are transparent, but as they are appearing, they flash garbled colours in a square around the icon. The also do it when selecting an icon. I have made sure RTG is ticked & i have used killoldicon but it has made no difference. I am sure i once had a similar problem and found the answer on the web. But perhaps middle age is affecting my memory


After making a backup of my WB and installing P96 the problem disappears. But my original workbench runs so much quicker than the P96 version.

Any idea's ?
