Roll eyes (sarcastic) Alfapower 500 Problems...

Ok, i recently bought an Alfapower 500 unit from someone over at Amibay... I was shown pictures and video's of it working on his standard A500 but i can't get it to fully work with my A500+ (manual says it's compatible). The 8mb RAM expansion works but the IDE CF card is no longer detected for some reason.

The IDE CF card could easily be detected when i first received it but it would not format without displaying "Format Failed: Error 21" and when i try to save chages to the drive it would say "Error 1" (i'm using the Alfapower setup disk which seems to be a BSC modified version of HDInstTool).

I've tried it with both a 128mb Sandisk and 2gb Kingston CF card which were shown working before i bought it.... Now to make matters worse, one of the wires attached to the LED/power switches has come off and i'm not 100% sure which pin it came from (someone did a poor job at re-soldering the LED and button wires at some point ).

Does anyone have any schematics or anything for this unit? Or if anyone owns one then could you please upload a photo of the inside so i can see where all the different colour wires are attached to the led's/buttons on the front.

Cheers

Here's a quick diagram showing all pins on each LED/button block:

Heh... a spelling mistake that should be "switch" and not "swwitch"

I'm a bit shocked after finding out what the led/button wiring "should" look like. My Alfapower is missing a pair of mini circuit boards! One of the previous owners made one hell of a bodge job

Check out my other thread over at Amibay (with pics): http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php...112#post122112

Ok, job done

I finally fixed the wiring... it's still not too pretty but at least it's all hidden when the case is put back together, and it works
