@R-TEAM, Well, I see you added both joysticks, bot Apidya only supports one, right?
This was what was in your config: Code:
joystick_port_1 = Hexagons Joystick Adapter joystick_port_0 = Hexagons Joystick Adapter #2 Try both Hexagons Joystick Adapter and Hexagons Joystick Adapter #2 in the Amiga joystick port, and let me know if neither works... |

Hi,
No - Apidya support sumultan team mode play. And it have nothing changed ....... I have used only the joy port this time, with one joystick. And a little suggestion : The joystick config utility is basicaly an good idea ... But the real usage is a mess .... why musst i config an extern controler on an playstation gamepad picture, that was NEVER used on Amiga at any time ? I dont know which button should represent the default fire button on an amiga stick ....??? And i dont know which button is the right for the second fire button, thats support a couple of AA Title games (Turrican/Apidya ...) So .. why i cant set my buttons of my real joystick/controler/gamepad/keyboard on an picture or draft of an simple default Amiga controler with only up/down - Left/Right and 1. Fire and 2. Fire ????? And the CD32 controler is even not the same as an PS controler - it have on the front side only 1 row of buttons - not 2, like PS controlers. (but here it should not an big problem to config it ..) You have simply misunderstood the purpose of the gamepad dialog. It isn't intended to be used to map actions such as "fire" or other stuff to gamepad buttons. It is intended to be used to describe the layout of the gamepad, so FS-UAE and related programs understand which button is where.
(Yes, it should ideally have another mode for joystick devices as opposed to gamepad devices). Anyway. *If* you have done the tests I asked you to and it still did not work, one possibility is that you have used the gamepad configuration tool in FS-UAE Launcher and have an incomplete config, so try to either: * Delete the .ini file from Documents/FS-UAE/Controllers, or * Run the configuration tool again. The button you want as fire should be mapped as "south button", 2nd fire as "west button". But do make sure you test with both of the joystick devices in the primary joystick port in FS-UAE. |

Hi,
it is not working - doing nothing ... Not on port 0 with adapter "Hexagons Joystick Adapter" or "Hexagons Joystick Adapter #2" and not on port 1. And i realy dont understand, why i get an mapping option screen with up/down/left/right and 2 x analog 2 axis sticks and 13 buttons, if the target system useto 90% of all games only up/down/left/right + Fire #1 , 9,5% of the rest the same + Fire #2, and only the handfull real CD32 games (not the ports from normal Amigas to CD32) use up/down/left/right and 8 buttons .... this realy make NO sense. It would make more sense to map buttons on the keyboard of the Amiga, if i have an gamepad and can use the unused buttons for kayboard action, that a couple of games have additionaly to the 2 fire buttons (like turrican -> alt + space + shift). I would never know if i would get the real amiga fire button, i musst map the "south" button from an PlayStation Gamepad ................... Regards R-TEAM |

Look, it is really very simple (you just want it to be something it isn't):
* Think of the dialog as a gamepad calibration tool * Yes, there should ideally be a joystick calibration mode for stuff which does not look like a gamepad. Rome wasn't built in a day. * It is not a tool to map Amiga actions, and never was (that would indeed be useful to have, but this isn't it. Rome was still not built in a day) * The dialog isn't even necessary to use for most gamepads and joysticks. Most gamepads are recognized automatically, and gamepads/joysticks will also work out of the box without configuration (but then only a single fire button). You're case was special because of the naming issue. Can you confirm that you have tried: * Use the configuration dialog and choose your desired fire button as "south button" * Hexagons Joystick Adapter in joystick port (*) * Hexagons Joystick Adapter #2 in joystick port (*) * Can the joystick be used to navigate the F12 menu? * Deleted C:/Users/MASTERGATZER/Documents/FS-UAE/Controllers\hexagons_joystick_adapter_2_2_0_0_windows.conf and done the above tests without using the configuration dialog. * Repeated all tests with more than one game. (*) in FS-UAE 2.5.x the joystick port is the top one. Last edited by FrodeSolheim; 14 October 2014 at 15:52. |

Hi,
thanks for the clarification (I still dont understant the sense of the calibration screen ... but o.k. - i understand it is not to map an host OS input to an specific amiga input ...) Have done the testing ... tryed : AtomicRoboKid,ShadowOfTheBeast,FireAndIce all the same .... I can configure in the config screen - thats all. In the Game or in the F12 Menu - no sucess .. Have atached last logs + config for controler Regards R-TEAM |

Hi,
YES - it works [have ATM not testet with 2 joy and only apidya tested, have only limmited time ATM - but will more test in the next days ..] Very thanks - and i know, have the devs of the joy adapter maked here job better (dont give so silly names to the joy ports ...) then it would be easyer to get it working .. so double thanks to you. But it is atm the only high accurate "amiga org joy -> USB" adapter ..... Regards R-TEAM |
