Not able to "fire" with CD32 Pad in Alien Breed 3D (with pab3d)

I have installed and patched Alien Breed 3D to play it with mouse and keyboard (using 1.1 of the Alien Breed patch from Aminet, pab3d) - however, with this patch I am not able to actually "shoot" when using my CD32 pad. I can switch weapons, move, crouch etc. but not shoot. What is the problem?

I just tested this with a standard version of Alien Breed and I cannot even select weapons etc. just move. I guess the pab3d patch already incorporates the added compatibility to the CD32 pad from another Aminet patch - but it does not allow the player to fire.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hm, maybe I should have posted my question differently

Anyway, I am just not able to shoot my weapon using a gamepad/CD32 pad in any version of Alien Breed 3D, no matter what I do - maybe this is not possible at all in AB3D?

There is a CD32 version of Alien Breed 3D.

Right! My box (1200 version unfortunately) tells me that there is "full CD32 Pad support", thought. Maybe they dropped that? Did the CD32 version actually have CD audio by the way? As the box says? Also there is that CD32 pad support patch on Aminet but it does nothing... there must be a way to play the enhanced patched version with a pad

Have you tried the preinstalled WHDLoad version?

Wow, this is great, thanks! No I didn't try this so one, so far I tried some of the Aminet patches and ended up with several patched versions of the game installed
