USB Scanner and WinUAE

I have a HP 6300C scanner which I have used with a real amiga. I am trying to use it with WinUAE 1.4.6 through my laptop which does not have a SCSI. I am trying to get it to work using the USB. Is there a ###.device that I should I point BETAScan or FXScan to to recognize the scanner?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no way to use an USB scanner with UAE.

Toni could write a usb wrapper (sorta), I mean the scanner is connected through USB on windows side,
but WinUae sees it as SCSI.

A bit like the printer: a usb printer is seen as attached to parallel in winuae.

This is basically the only compatible way but I am not interested in doing these kinds of features for free. (I am not even sure if this is possible in real-time)

More of a question of technical feasibility than a request:

Would it be within the bounds of reasonable possibility to write a WinUAE USB driver for the likes of Poseidon?

Yes but it would require full USB emulation in WinUAE (which I won't do) because you can't directly access USB devices. (or if you try, Windows would get quite confused)

More important question: WHY?
