Serious problem
This thing is happenned the 3rd time today. Running CD32/CDTV (quickstart) without any CD32/CDTV CD mounted/inserted locks up WinUAE and killing the task makes it impossible to work on PC at all (you can't close or start any application, locks the whole system), reboot is also impossible, you can only use a Reset/Power button on the PC. After reboot, most of the unclosed-before-reboot files are padded with 0's - like uTorrent's resume.dat or firewall's settings and logs (guess, those programs were trying to update their config files, while the system was locked up).
There are Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3823 and DT 3.33 (because of the Analog Audio option) installed, Adaptec's ASPI is installed. Has anyone faced with this problem, or is this bug unique to me? |

It locks, while working with ASPI. SPTI works fine, but Quikstart tries to use ASPI by default. Tried both Adaptec's ASPI and ForceASPI - same result. Other applications works fine with APSI, no problems. Any suggestions?

Do not use Adaptec ASPI, it is broken under Windows NT+ (never worked fine, always bluescreened etc..)
FrogASPI or NeroASPI should work fine. (or use SPTI) |

Maybe it should try to use SPTI by default, then? Afterall, it is a standard for 2k/XP/Vista; 9x/ME are obsolete...

I mean, if it tries to use ASPI by default (including quickstart configs) and you know, that it may freeze/crash with BSOD/etc, why not to make it a bit more stable by using SPTI by default? Of course, it's up to you to decide and I won't further arguing about it.

Default is SPTI, you probably have default.uae overriding it.
Quickstart only affects Amiga hardware config. It does not touch PC-side configuration. |

Agree. Just realised, that WinUAE writes some settings into registry, there was an older version on the hdd (not in the same folder, though) and newer ones used its config files.
