Works for me perfectly in AF!

Here's the last one that works in AF 1.3.

I have tried the Amigos version. Just as a benchmark are you running the Amiga 500 settings then without modification just inserting the adf file into the virtual machine? The game appears to run fine until you make a move where it slows down to a crawl and there's no sound

Yes, no extra settings. A500, 1.3, 512/512, DF0:. Just played a game and no slow down, sound works fine.

Here's my RP9 to try. If it doesn't work for you then it might be a difference between your PC and mine.

Rename .zip to .rp9

So why doesn't the QTX crack work on SB's A500? Is it because it's been written to disk and thereby broke the crack? Or does he just have to enable write protection. (I couldn't read the whole thread, too much to bear in one sitting.)

Oh my God guys. Using Battle Chess (1988)(Interplay)[cr UA - WOW].adf with "read only" in the emulator or enabling the write protection tab on the real Amiga stops the "software error" occuring and the game works perfectly! Why is this the case? The software error occurs only when you double click on the BattleChess disk icon with write enabled.

I noticed the one I attached doesn't even have the hard disk installer. It just has the battle chess icon.

Had a looksie on my A2000 and A4000 and have a folder with Battlechess that works in both machines.
It has 4 files - Battlechess, Battlechess.info, ChessSaves, ChessStuff.

These are the same files in the adf -

Battle Chess (1988)(Interplay)[cr Amigos][f HD Install Amigos].zip

Rekon I just copied them into a folder a long time ago and seemed to work OK.

Checked out the main file and its powerpacked. When tried it unpacked it came up with a - out of memory on the A1200. Works perfectly with the powerpacked main file tho! The original adf has the powerpacked main Battlechess file.

Copied the same files onto a disk and it worked on 1.2,1.3,2.0,3.0,3.1 and with all different mem configs. Try it yourself.
