Is there a modern day open source equivalent of ReSource floating about?

I've got disk images of the drivers for the DataFlyer SCSI.

I read something somewhere about a second Gayle support. iDE doubler? Anyone know anything about this. I’m keen to keep my hands off the K1208

This looks interesting http://www.elbox.com/products/fast_ata_1200.html it fits over the Gayle chip.

Not sure if the FastATA will help you much, it interposes itself between the Motherboard and Kickstart Roms and does some shenanigans there.

I've never seen anything. Seen lots of other implementations of the Gayle (A500, A2000 etc.) but never two in the same system.

All the IDE doublers I've seen use one Gayle with the enhanced two ports (Primary & Secondary) you get with an IDEFix adapter and the standard two IDE devices on each port (Master & Slave).

The IDEFix97 driver is required to use the secondary port.

Alexh I did have a play with the Gayle side of the firmware but not enough to get any results at the time so removed it to get the a1200 to boot & indigolem thanks for all this information. That 48-bit ATA-6 is nice too.

I have been very sick for last 3 weeks and have been absent from everywhere.

I sent you all the files, the schematic, the board file and some built samples. ? I thought you were going to work on it but i guess you don't have the time with too much on your plate so there has been no progress on this at all since i sent you the previous info

I was lucky to receive a donation of an A1200 recently and got round to soldering a K1208 (Kipper2K) first revision board based on the TF328 board design which is under GPL by Stephen J. Leary (Plasmab) - https://github.com/terriblefire/tf328 . The K1208 in the images below has 8MB of Alliance Fastram, the same two CPLD's as the original design, a 3v3/5v option for lower voltage ram options. The firmware is a modified original tf328 firmware with my 0ws fix and IDE braindead out for gayle incompatible reasons.

My experience so far with the k1208 is that I'm playing WHDLoad games just fine.

Pro: Cheap to build for those with SMD soldering skills and a bunch of cplds/and BOM of tf328.

Cons: a 030 would be nice eventually, and SPI headers for future upgrades.

I can give a link here for them, please be aware that it is just a beta and there will be changes once i get a chance to update. I think i will dump the IDE portion from it as there appears to be no interest for it. this board will only work as 8MB fastmem and RTC. I do have changes planned

Hi Brian,
If you do re-spin the board, please include a SPI Header - 'a la TF530' as Solidcore and I are planning to include a tweak to the firmware so as to include this feature.

@Kipper2k, hope you're feeling better, I agree with Bprepared, I too think SPI header is the way forward.
Being greedy, I like the posibility to retain IDE, but tbh, I think an 8MB board with SPI header and RTC could mean great things are available for those on a tight budget, I already have IDE on my A1200, I don't have 8MB fast and I don't have SPI.
As soon as someone writes an SPI driver for a NIC, I can use my NAS for storage.
