Transfering .adf files to amiga
Hi
I'm just wondering how i go about doing this on my amiga 600 (workbench 2.0)? I have a PCMCIA to CF adapter and a 2gig CF card, and i want to transfer some .adf files from the PC to the amiga HDD, can anyone explain how to do this, or is there a guide somewhere? Cheers |

First you need to setup fat95 filesystem and cfd device driver at your mig. You can use 720K formatted pc floppy disks to transfer these to amiga. Then you just copy the adfs to cf and burn them on the amiga side using a utility like adf2disk.

If you have one of our EasyADF PCMCIA CF Transfer Kit you should load the EasyADF disk, the ADFs will be listed, click the game you want to transfer and click 'Transfer ADF to Floppy' button.
EasyADF can also compress as ZIP, uncompress LHA, ZIP and LZX- it can be iconified to an AppIcon on your Workbench screen where you can simply drag-and-drop archives onto it and it will automatically decompress them. EasyADF works on the A600 and A1200 with or without a hard disk. Last edited by amigakit.com; 07 July 2007 at 12:09. |

That seems to be what i have. Is it just a case of copying the .adf files to the CF card on the PC and then using the software above to transfer to the HDD. Does the CF card need formatting a certain way for the amiga to read it?

Format the CF card as FAT16 (not FAT32)
Copy the ADFs to the CF card. Boot the 'ADAPCMCFL' disk. Insert the CF card and start EasyADF. The contents of the CF card will be listed in EasyADF. Click on one of the ADFs and click 'Transfer ADF to floppy' If you have extra memory, EasyADF will also allow you to transfer to RAD: - this is a RAM drive so you dont have to use floppy disks all the time. RAD: requires 900K of memory though. Let us know when you purchased EasyADF - the latest version of the boot disk is 1.7- we can email the update if you have a older version. |

The more memory the better, when it comes to WHDLoad.
Of course, as you're only going to be running non-AGA games then 2MB will be okay, I would have thought. |

Cool. Does anyone know if there is a converter cable so you can use a USB or XBOX controller on the amiga? Cheers.

Ive read that a megadrive joypad will work on the amiga, is this correct? Are there any other joypads that will work?

Mega Drive joypads work fine. Couldn't comment on any others though...
