well now that i think about it Perihelion wasn't the single one... ther was Pools of Darkness too (it's the one of the tetralogy i have played more) and Gateway to/Treasures of the Savage Frontier. The Krynn games, if even more linear had role playing, but they revolved too much around combat and magic.
Hillfsfar was a bit more funnier.

many other rpg games are just glorified (and great) dungeon crawlers not RPG imho.

4. Eye of the Beholder (like the second and third, but not as much as the first one)

I've played Captive intensely back in the day, as I did with many Amiga RPGs as I enjoyed the genre.

It's a fantastic game, better than Bloodwych and many others in a single player fashion. But so are other RPGs in single player..... (you know where I'm going with this, I'm beginning to sound like a parrot). I'd boot them up in an instant over Bloodwych if I'm looking for a single player experience.

Bloodwych was and still is a fantastic and unique multiplayer RPG and for that reason alone it's top of my list. It's the human element that makes the game shine and you can't imagine the depth this adds over a single player experience. The fun, arguments, co-operation, deathmatches, tricks, selfish or generous attitudes and head scratching that goes into the quest is amazing. The dread or panic of being trapped by a beast or falling for a trap. The anger of being accidently killed by your team mate when they mess up a spell like arcbolt or witchwind!

The puzzles are just right in terms of difficulty and rather clever given the limitations they were working with. Love it, love it, love it!

The characters each feel unique and combined with the dialog it draws you into a cult status mindset when you think of it through rose tinted nostalgia glasses.

There are some RPGs listed in this thread I've actually managed to miss. Shame on me. I'm getting out of my unhealthy obsessive mindset and going to boot a few of these up to see what I've been missing.

Then you should check out Black Crypt and Abandoned Places
Very good ones indeed and worth your time

Even Crystal Dragon is a good game, even if puzzles in last levels are very (but VERY!) difficult.

Black Crypt is THE GREATEST, right next to Dungeon Master, or way above it.

Managed to get stuck deep into the game many years ago and always meant to go back and finish it one day. Have you finished it? I remember just coming to a dead end and wandered around for ages looking for a secret button but to no avail.

The reason why I like the game so much is that rather than a port, like Eye of the Beholder or Dungeon Master, Black Crypt was pure Amiga with it's half bright 64 colour palette.

It looked great!

I admit, it's hard to get people motivated to retro game. Newer is always better in most people's minds. Luckily I have my brother who's fiished Bloodwych with me recently, as it's a good memory for him too.

Good job we've got places like this to keep the spirit alive.

That's the spirit of retro games, no leet hints every fucking step ("now press the start button to enter menu and press x to"... ) but it makes you stuck now and then...
Wasn't it a legality-check situation?

Back in the days I remember got stuck on the very first double-headed-ogre level, lol...

One thing I hate in BC are the weapons without any stats, so you wouldn't know which is the most powerful.

I remember there was some kind of a bug with the Bull/Ram god or whatever his name was.
You could do some kind of a sneak-attack when he was around the corner and when you attacked the very minute he would step on the field before you, he would get instantly killed. I remeber I've always had trouble with this guy, but always managed to kill him that way after some time.

Yes, the spells looked great, the objects, the items, the enemies, everything. Walls might have been all pixelated in the same way, but due to palette changes looked differently almost everywhere - oh, those lovely underwater levels.

God I loved so many.

I think the main one for me, which really got me onto really wanting an Amiga was Dungeon Master. I loved the two-player Bloodwych as well which myself and a friend used to play all the time - getting pretty bloody close to finishing it as well.

Others that spring to mind are:

Captive 2: Liberation :P (just good fun)
Eye of the Beholder Series (great games to play after Dungeon Master)
Legends of Valour (one of the first games I had - thanks mum!)
Galdregons Domain (saw this originally on an ST and it looked fun!)
Captive (too bloody big and dont think it can be finished)
Elvira 2 (no where near completed this game - should do really)
Waxworks (goryness fun!)

yeah that was great! it was the only way to force me actually play a game
now that cheats come out of the walls screaming, on the other hand...

the only thing that could be of use without spoil the fun were those half assed maps without hints nor walkthroughs or even a legenda that were print on dark brown paper on a popular italian magazine. it was like having a burned and scarred map to a treasure island, it didn't stop the fun.

however Black Crypt was one of these game that took me ages to get next to the end... no matter the tweaked stats... because of multilevel puzzles and hidden buttons... Great!
