Publisher Logos for T-Shirts?
Has someone ever made their own tshirts with old publisher logos?
Its very hard to find decent logos? The ones on HOL are way to small for a propper shirtprinting. Also vectorizing jpeg/png logos is also not a very good idea. You cant vectorize an ocean logo for example, because you loose the wavey effect in the logo:-( Can someone give me some tips how to make a propper shirt myself? THX!!! |

I've done this very thing! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...kaikowear1.jpg
If you can't find a printable-quality image of the logo, you're going to have to either settle for low resolution, or redraw the entire logo yourself. To do that, you'd have to find the highest quality versions of the logo you can from multiple sources and redraw the entire thing bit by bit. I cheated and used a logo that was very simple. http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=52783 If you had your own sources, you could scan your logo, but you'd still have to clean it up. What type of printing did you use for the KAIKO image?
Photo or flockprint? |

I re-created many publisher logos in hi-res, here's a few examples in low res for obvious reasons :-
Unfortunately I cannot find the .psd files of them since my crash in January. |

Psygnosis is in the original style + all the others can be done the same too, they're all vectors but those images are photoshopped versions.
I also do a very nice Fairlight logo (Angeldawns) too, officially accepted as being nice by Galahad/FLT |

They didn't have separate printing options there when I made my shirt. Because it was a black t-shirt, I'm fairly certain they used 'flex printing' (thats what spreadshirt calls it). The letters feel like a thin rubber layer that's been embedded into the shirt. The black areas within the logo are not printed, they are 'holes' in the layer. (I think I had to supply an image that had transparency for this to work.) I'm very pleased with the quality. The design is not worn at all, the edges are sharp, the whites are bright and the colour is still vibrant. I would guess that Vistaprint uses a cheaper ink-like printing for their white and grey shirts. I'd be a little worried about the design fading if you use that method. Shame the Psygnosis font looks crap :s Why create the logo and then use a crap font, doesn't make sense.
Like I said earlier, all of the ones above in my earlier post are vectors, and are as accurate as I can possibly create them with the images that I have from magazines etc. The 3D effects are created using Zaxwerks and Photoshop. |

PSD files = Photoshop files not vector files Suppose your lack of GFX knowledge has let you down TCD
I have the vector files so if the OP would like to use them, by all means PM me. |

You could have said that earlier! Maybe you could post them here?

P.S. I don't have to have 'GFX knowledge' to see that you didn't post more than scaled down JPGs |

I don't really think it was that hard to understand TCD, maybe I could have been put differently, but nevertheless it's quite understandable.
Now, let's get this back on topic without the snide remarks from you about my posts. OK. |

I somehow think, and will give credit to, the OP to be able to read this thread and my posts to be able to easily understand what I have posted.
Now I'll say it again, back on topic without your snide remarks, or next time I'll just delete them. You have been warned. |

Fair enough I stil thinkl you could have made that more clear the first time around, but if you insist that posting that you don't have the PSD files makes it clear that you don't have any other means to post higher quality images, so be it.
