Alien Apparat - demo in BlitzBasic
Hi Blitz coders!
Please check out my latest demoscene demo done entirely in Blitz Basic with some in-line assembler procedures. The demo is Amiga ECS ready and should run with no problem on stock Amiga 600, but this, party version, runs best on stock A1200 ... more info about the demo development, links, etc on the blog post: http://retronavigator.com/post/16674...rat-amiga-demo |

Yeah that would be interesting, since you said you have a bunch of in-line assembler, too.
Could help a lot of folks out there to see how the two work together. Of course, only if you want to. |

Nice !
But for me under WinUAE (2.8 & 3.0) ( I know I should update :P ) there was a bit of screen wrap. |

@spudje
Never heard of music act Ellen Actually to unveil the story behind the name it was meant to be a homage to a demo I did with Miracles and Lepsi on C64 called Apparatus. When I started to learn Amiga coding I set a simple goal. Will I be able to code a demo like Apparatus? ... well you judge the result. now... regarding the source code. YES I'll release some sources of the demo code. not all, mainly the copper tricks... but give me some time to do some house-keeping with the sources. it should be released soon. but keep in mind there's nothing special about the code. For example the stardust tunel (discussed here on EAB forums) is really simple. It was more challenging to prepare the gfx than code it. you can find the gfx even now on the demo disc. all files in data/ dir that have .stc extension are packed with stone cracker. you can decrunch them with stc and see how they are build. if you ask me today what was my biggest problem while coding the demo I'll say it was memory management. We can discuss it more if you want to hear "real life" problems while coding BB based production. just let me know what is that you want to know. |

Got well impressed by the demo even before learning it was made with Blitz! Loved the pixelworks and was blown-away by some of the contents of the blog.
Definitly will love to take a peek at the source code. Good work! |
