Puzzle Bobble looks good but I have no idea why anyone would play it over the Neo Geo version.
Chaos Engine on C64 would be an impressive achievement. |

Yeah the neo geo version is awesome but it's kinda neat(and I'd play the C64 version) to see a C64 version of puzzle bobble.

I was watching the video of "L'Abbaye des Morts"
[ Show youtube player ] and I was thinking about something... It somehow reminds me about "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" for MSX by Kralicek. [ Show youtube player ] I know that they don't have anything in common, but I also was thinking that it would be marvellous a version of it for the Commodore. Watch both videos and think about that. Just my thoughts. |

VICE 3.3 was released a few days ago.
It's a source only release, however vice.pokefinder.org offers Windows 32-bit builds of the GTK3 version. I've upped a Windows 64-bit build of the SDL2 version to my user upload folder. Compiled with MSYS2/Mingw64 GCC 8.2.1 with these options: --enable-sdlui2 --enable-static-ffmpeg |

Quite pointless at this moment since the new GTK3 is jerky as hell, also broken scaling with CRT filter enabled. Yes, they want to support only one GUI from now on for all platforms. But this one for Windows needs much more work. I'm no fan of this SDL GUI stuff neither.

SDL version is imo the best of the lot.
The now dead WinVICE versions I never could get a smooth 50hz display without jerky scrolling, no such problems with SDL/SDL2, at least not here at my end. |

I had no problems with the older WinVice after i switched to Win10, especially not with my Free sync hardware. But the GTK3 is highly experimental at this stage. It has no real fullscreen mode for now iirc. Well, there are other good C64 emulators too. Like micro64, Hoxs64 and the new Denise emulator looks promising.

In GTK3VICE press ALT+D to go full screen, works fine.

Yeah you're right, it doesn't look good.
Well, that's another win for SDL version in my book (default settings used in screenshot). https://imgur.com/9k1eCFo |

Everthing without the newer Colodore color palette looks like crap anyway.
