What USB-disc you use ?

Hi,

i bought the VDrive2 over eBay from a seller in the USA, shipping was a little bit expensive... But now i have ordered a VDrive1 from eBay, that will be "only" 30€..

The only USB Hardware i tested was a no name USB Stick with 2GB.

Rappel
Serial = 19200BPS ~ 1,875Ko/s
Parallele= 37,2Ko/s ~305000BPS
It is 20x

No device used, direct CIA programmation is more easy for me.

And on what Amiga you use it ?

Yes not cheep !
See cost difference between VDRIVE/VDIP, prefer VDIP (mine 17,5£ vs 21£ ).
Serial fonction is same, but now with parallele transfert is most interesting (more fast that floopy now, but code not ready).

I used it on a A500 with kick1.3 and a Fastram Expansion, and a A600 with kick3.1, 8MB Fastram, 68010, installed OS3.1.

On both Amigas it worked very good .

News for parallele version:
I take time for code the "USB to Amiga" command, and litle modif on "Amiga->USB" command.
Now, USB is realy an usable mass-storage and good exchange support.
Transfert speed on my 7MHz Amiga:
USB_Import ~30Ko/s (Amiga<--VNC1L)
USB_Export ~50Ko/s (Amiga-->VNC1L)
No symetrical transfert speed, because CIA hardware validation is not used in READ therefore 3 CIA acces VS 1 in WRITE.

I do an litle video asap.

And happy new year !

capri351.free.fr/Amiga/Ti_L'USB_VersParallele.avi

As promised, litle video for parallele version (i am not good photographer and keybord use in same time no arrange it).
Just copy to USB (an 512Ko ROM image), and recopy it from USB to RAM:
Amiga in low resolution for beter video visibility.

Very nice!!!

Would you also make the schematics and the software available, as for the serial version?

--> Boo Boo
No hesitation, parallele is (25x) fast and reliable transmition in compararison to serial with noise.

--> spock-79
it is the interest of forum and partage !
At this day, no definitive hardware plan and perhaps change control-line because recuperate an E/S for 'reset' the VDIP if need and too for 'handler' codage and real Amiga device (this no my codage, but another person would do this if have time).
But if anyone want cable this 'proto' , i can communique info and existant codes, mail me for this ;-)

But i sell nothing, i do just two copper last days for my personal use.

I see VDIP2 at RS-Composant for 21€ or in GB shop for 20£.

Print ".iff" with laser-printer on transparent paper, verify proportion (i print it with PC in 90% on my printer).
An pre-sensible epoxy 10minutes on sun for UV with printed-transparent and revelator and perclorure.
Or give the transparent at elecronic-shop, it can do the copper and drill it too.
Use v1.3, i hope correction is good on it (the 1.2 in photo demand modification).
If you no have electronic-shop at proximity tell me.

Sao Leopoldo it is in the south ? near Uruguay frontier ? i go sometime in the north Oyapoque(Amapa).

Hello All,

I would like to know if someone could provide the old serial version schematics and code or executable commands.

I want to try it on my A500, and already have all necessary components, but can't find the sources or the compiled commands for the Serial version.

Many thanks,

JP

PS: I 'll try a PM to Counia but don't know if he is still around...
