Any music that repeats after only 10-15 seconds, eg. Vectorball, Scorpio, Fireblaster.

To me there is no terrible music anymore on the Miggy. No matter how bad it is compared to other Miggy music, it still sounds like sweet lullabies to me.

The reason being some Sega Megadrive multiplayer sessions I did with TCD a long long time ago. We eventually stumbled upon some rom hack of Streets of Rage 3 which had the most horrendous music you could possibly imagine - aneurysm material.

The horror... the horror!

There's good music and bad music on every platform but... Streets of Rage 3... yeah that's pretty bad

Dragon Force music. I don't think I can ever comprehend how could one even achieve this and think it's fine, I mean really...

Can't remember, pretty sure theres a site somewhere that has the listings for every issue.

I came back to remind people what a shit Justin Scharvona is, all his "music" was absolute bollocks.

Makes David Whittaker look the opposite of lazy.

I’d nominate A-Train (a game I love), specifically for that 30 second faux-elevator-music loop that goes round and round and round and round until you go mad/turn the thing off.

It's been almost 30 years and I still cringe whenever I hear the intro "music" for "Major Motion".

Just stumbled on this one, Iron Trackers. The tears got very real when I started playing the actual game.

I loved Scorpio's music BITD. Just wish it had been a higher quality sample

This was sadly appropriate because they seemed to be written for Atari ST ports that only required the game to 'just work' on the Amiga. Whenever I started loading a game and heard that 'wet fish' snare drum I prepared myself for disappointment.

What was worse is that he probably took work away from more aspiring musicians that actually wanted to make good use of the Amiga sound.

Programmer: "We have a game finished for the Atari ST, now we just have to port it to the Amiga. Should we write code to make use of: Hardware scrolling, sprites, more colours, better sound?"

"No. fuck it, we'll just get Whittaker to make the music and ship it. He'll probably only take a couple of hours."
Yup, specifically Xenon for me, which on the ST is lovely, pure chiptune goodness, but the samples used in the Amiga equivalents sound like they're just "stuck on" and it sounds horrible, especially that staccato guitar sample - urgh.

Although he is forgiven and redeemed by his work for Shadow Of The Beast.

When I first heard the Xenon music I thought I had a bad crack. One of the instruments sounds deliberately out of tune and so loud and irritating that it could be used as a parody of a song. Have you ever seen a "fake" demo that was made very badly in order to ridicule another group (by suggesting that the other group made it and this is the best of their abilities)? This music could be useful for those.

The music from 0:36 to 0:40 (just before the speech) is what I'm talking about. I haven't managed to listen to the full tune so it may become even worse.

Oh. At 2:17 to 3:00 it does get worse. David Whittaker was paid for this shit. I often wondered how an Atari ST owner could honestly believe that the Atari ST was *better* than the Amiga 500. Perhaps this is the only game they saw on the Amiga.
