idefix problem
Hi guys,
I am in need of some help.I am the proud owner of a classic 1200 with an ide cd rom drive and zip drive connected by cable via idefix. I now want to add a second cable to give me expansion for another two devices (hard drives) as it happens. When I connect a second cable to the idefix hardware the H.Disk immediately lights up and stays on.The machine does not boot but if I wait long enough the machine eventually gives me the boot screen as though I do not have any hard drive connected.Er....help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Dave |

It could also mean that you have more than two devices connected to one channel. The adapter has two channels, but three connectors. The 2.5" connector and one of the 3.5" connectors belong to the same channel. Also make sure that the drives are jumpered correctly. Exactly one master and one slave on each channel. |

ide fix problem
Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the info - it worked a treat! It never occured to me that the 2.5" drive was part of a chain.DOH!! All I need now is a "new" power supply and everything willbe coming up roses. Thanks again Dave |
