check HDD bad blocks
I've had a few problems with bad HDDs lately
Is there a tool I can use to scan a Hard Disk and look for bad blocks? I want to make sure my new disk is error-free before I copy all my data on to it. I'll be using SFS. Thanks |

Looks like an excellent program. However at $90 it's a bit more than I was prepared to spend (ie. nothing). Anything amiga based?

I understand that modern drives will remap bad blocks without the knowledge of the operating system, so the old model of identifying bad drives by finding bad blocks may no longer work.
I'm happy to be proven wrong! |
