Post I might have a few games for you guys

The following games are not in the CAPS database. I have them.

- R-Type II (Activision)
- Labyrinthe Aux 1000 Calculs (Retz)
- The Lost Vikings (Interplay)
- The Amazing Spiderman (Empire)
- Dream Zone (Baudville)
- Captain Planet (Mindscape)

I also have something that looks like an uber wanted version of Kick Off 3 : it's retail, it's AGA and it's Euro. And original.

If those games are needed, I won't dump them myself (lazy) but I am willing to send the disks to the nearest CAPS warrior. After all, if I really feel the urge to play those games again, I can lameulate.
Last but not least : I have not tested them.

Great stuff!

Okay, about the ones you listed, we have:

1006: The Amazing Spider-Man (EN/FR/DE/IT/ES)
1448: Captain Planet and the Planeteers
1854: Kick Off 3 (AGA)

I expect these are the same as we have (referring to HOL).

However, we certainly do not have:

R-Type II
Labyrinthe Aux 1000 Calculs
The Lost Vikings
Dream Zone

So those would be great. If X_to can dump them then even better, since we are all rather busy at the moment.

About actually checking the disks, this is not strictly needed, but if you are going to do that, obviously make sure the are write protected. Actually, it is better to dump them, then test them.

Lastly, it is a good idea for X_to to keep them until we have checked the dumps - just in case redumps are needed.

Wrong, Softy is talking about 1896 Kick Off 3: European Challenge (AGA)
which is wanted since we only have the compilation version dumped (that is probably same with the retail one, but unproven until dumped)
So please dump those KO3EC disks as well.

of course the disks will be here till someone of you tell me that i didn´t have to redump them..

and don´t forget if the dumps are good enough for creating the ipf´s you have to send the releases not to me...

after all done work i´m not the owner any more...

Nice one x_to
And thanks MrSofty for the loan!

Peliminary results are (I'm sure IFW will confirm if anything is wrong here):
  • R-Type 2 - track 79.0 appears to be bad. Perhaps a mastering error IFW? I don't have access to any other dumps (if any) right now to see. Worth a redump if not.
  • DreamZone - possibly a copy unfortunately, though as this is an old game it could just be an older type of duplication hardware. IFW needed to confirm.
  • Labyrinthe - perfect
  • Kick Off 3 - perfect
  • Lost Vikings - likely a copy unfortunately, probably using hardware (cyclone etc.)

@akira

don´t worry...maybe it isn´t so much bad as we think...

@fiath

is it possible that other dumps aren´t corrupt at track 79.0 and they will be combined with this dump to create a perfect ipf...???

If it is not a mastering error (which is likely to effect all disks from the same duplication run), yes it is possible. But only if we are absolutely sure they are identical versions.

See "Comparison Technology" and "Image Merge" here:
