Seems someone didn't have enough power in their soldering iron to work with such a big ground plane. :-)

Yeah, looks like someone had one of those completely inadequate 15w soldering irons, or solder warming iron would be more like it.

I really hope that wasn't a shot of factory soldering from back in the day, mind You, by then morale would not likely have been too high at Commodore.
