Settlers Save Game help please.

Ok So I first tried the Whdload version of this, but I couldn't type the the Mission password due to a known bug. It's probably been patched by now but I've been happly playing away using the ADF floppy version on my gotek with a save game disk (called Empty) pre set up by whoever compiled the ADF files.

Someone on here sugested I install Settlers using the HD install function so I installed it last week from the ADF files and boom settlers loads up now in seconds. result.

Though how do I get my save game data from my ADF floppy (empty disk)?
The program information during the copy protection screen says game saves to Hard disk is there a way to change this to floppy?

I've tried just copying the files accross to the main folder but they dont apper when I select load, all fields say free.

Also the game wont even let me create a new save game. It just says error unable to save archive, check disk write protection??
I didn't know I could write protect the HDD.

Am I doing something wrong?

Like you I used the "native" install, but I then copied a cracked gamefile from .ADF so that I don't need to have the manual to enter in symbols.

I've put this in The Zone! for you

Regarding saving, save files go into the directory where you installed to:

That's a point. I didn't copy over a crack when I installed it from the ADF.
Is the copy protection on Settlers not to let you save game?
I remember certain games were clever like that so they acted like a demo.

Not that I'm aware of.

If you didn't copy across the cracked game exe after hard drive installation then you would need the manual to get past the symbol entry screen.

That's odd. It lets me put anything into the copy protection screen.
I haven't copied any crack over after the install.

That is very weird, unless you installed the game from cracked .ADFs to begin with?

I originally used the .IPFs.

I created the saves via playing the game from hard drive; see image in post #2.

Are the saves from your floppy disk named the same? If not try renaming to match.
