Cinemawares Sinbad Image is a CRACK!

I was amazed to find that the Amiga Image of Sinbad from the Cinemaware website, is actually a crack from a group called Megabyte.

It's because of the copyprotection on the original disks. Many companies offer cracked versions of their old Amiga games. Check out the Thalion webshrine...

Excellent.

The gameplay looks like the C64 (as I've played very similar scenes many, many moons ago) but of course the graphics are way too good.

It has to be the Atari ST version doesn't it???

The Apple IIGS version was supposedly the best during my research. I think the ST was very similar.

Have you looked at the Amiga version though... How could there be such a difference in graphics from it and the screens above?

Other games on the cinemaware site have been cracked by different groups, like wings was cracked by skid row.

Nice one faith

I wonder why they didn't do it? I believe the only Cinemaware game that needs a manual (or otherwise to be cracked) is Wings. The rest should be fine...

I think the Amiga version was created first in 86, released in 87. The rest were done later.

CinemaWare are releasing "revamped" versions of their old classics, thanks to clickBOOM (yes, they're still around), could the screenshots be from one of them?

I wonder if CinemaWare asked their permission to post their code? Lol!

well at least they have allowed their software into the public domain...
and i dont suppose they could be bothered to spend time removing the copy-protection (or cracking their own software)

i wish other companies followed their example

That would be silly as then no-one could play the games they download from the Cinemaware site because they still have the copy protection/codewheel/manual checks.

Very true T_hairy_bootson... but they give you the Secret Decoder Wheel on the site:

http://www.cinemaware.com/clsgame_rr.asp?sel=wheel

Would be nice if Cinemaware gave you the required manual for Wings also
