I'm guessing most of you are familiar with load/save state? Well it's made the mod just about playable for me.
Just make sure your WB config has a pretty low amount of memory specified so the states aren't slow to work with (and avoid z3 ram, don't think UAE likes snapshotting that), then simply make a couple of saves at strategic points in each level. Now there isn't the highly frustrating start over / lose entire squad for a stupid turret, more like an undo button Some would call it cheating, I call it fixing the mod |

CF is one of my favourite games - I'm most pleased to see a new campaign but WHY did it have to be so hard..?
My hat's off to the developer but as someone who never finished the original I have no hope of completing this. PLEASE do an easy version for rubbish-gamers like me! |

If you have completed original campaign you should not have any problems with playing CFNC. On many forums I have read that cfnc is very difficult or impossible to complete. That is not true, I think that it is as difficult as original campaign. Easy version will never get out.
Did anyone accomplished new campaign? Last edited by Orson; 10 May 2009 at 22:27. |

i think you'll find it's 72 new "phases" ... levels / missions/ maps / whatever.. who cares? is it really worth correcting someone over? all you need to know is that you wont be playing anything from the original game.

Is there any way to get these missions to work with the CD32 version? That would make a neat unofficial CD32 release

Wow, now that is one useless post IC You say that a 'level' in Cannon Fodder is a mission and I say it's a map. Now what?

Hmmm. IIRC the CD32 version doesn't have any audio tracks, so it should be dead easy to recreate a disc using the new campaign... I'll keep it in mind.

It only has an additional Mode 2 track containing the MPEG1 intro - but seeing as WinUAE is unlikely to emulate it anytime soon, most people probs won't miss it. Unless you feel having the intro (particularly for real CD³² users) would make it more 'complete'?

In few first missions enemy soldiers are very slow and not aggresive so there are many enemy cannons/tanks firing in unexpectable way. Further levels are (in my opinion) different than missions 1-5 (less cannons). I agree with a reliance on luck when wandering in the jungle. Booby traps, and mines are now more "invisible" than in original campaign (in original campaign I never lost any soldier on a booby trap).
I know that someone achieved mission 12 (and probably completed it) some time ago, but nothing more. I accomplished new campaign two times but it does not count. |
