Either the Mrk1 or Mrk2 is good (I just brought a Mrk2 myself )

Another option is an MT-32 which is arguably better for some older games but for full general MIDI support the SC-55 is a better bet.

Read more about it here https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=35135

There is now some pretty good MIDI support for 68K games because you now have ScummVM, OpenDUNE, DosBOX and Exult all with MIDI support built in

The best thing about MIDI support is that it doesn't load up the CPU which is perfect for 68K.

I'm waiting on some Midi gear to hook up to my Raspberry Pi running MT32d and the MT-32 Rom images. I believe I should be able to coax the Amiga into thinking it's a genuine MT-32 so this will be a good test!

Cool, let me know how it goes.

Apparently it's also possible to hook a real classic Amiga up to a PC to perform the same kind of function.

BTW I also ported this game to Raspberry Pi

Tested today the last release together with my MT32. Everything working fine.
If Germans report problems with special characters, they use wrong data files. The Legacy file package is working fine here.

I had a thought about music, and it sort of works...

Those of us with BlizzardPPC or CyberstormPPC boards can play ripped .mp3 audio files via a PPC-MP3 player in Workbench. This means that yes, you can have that wonderful atmospheric synth music playing in the background while dishing out destruction to your foe!

However, and this is the "sort of works" bit... it means that you only get the music - no sound effects. I know that OpenDune plays via AHI unit 0, so I'm wondering if there is anyway for both this and an MP3 player to output and mix at the same time? I'm sure there are audiophiles out there who know this sort of stuff better than me!

Very nice, thx NovaCoder. I used to love playing Dune on my A500 way back when.

No worries

It's also one of my favorite retro games.

This enhanced version looks (and sounds) so much better than the old A500 version
