2 PCI Graphics cards on a Mediator?

Howdy Folks!

Anyone know if you can run more that PCI Graphics card with a Mediator?

I've got the Voodoo 3 running now in my A1200 Tower as my Voodoo 5 had started playing up

Its not all bad news though because the Voodoo 3 has actually fixed some other Warp3D issues I was having with Wipeout2097 so now I can play in full screen but thats another story!

Anyway when OS4.1 comes along I want to run the Radeon for OS4.1 but I want to keep my Voodoo 3 for OS3.9 - Can this be done? I'd just use a screen with DVI and VGA inputs instead of a switch...

This is all in my A1200T by the way, the Mediator is a 1200SX...

Cheers!

Steve.

@Steve-o

you should be able to use multiple graphics cards my friend since they have there own address and config space - you can create screen mode for both entities under CGX and Picasso96

=)

now in regards to be able to use RAM from the gfx cards that will take some experimentation. I have to admit I look forward to warp3D enabled radeon on an Amiga.

Thanks mate, I'll have to get a hold of a Radeon for my Mediator, do I need a 3.3v or 5v one?

I read that Warp3D isn't supported under OS3.9 with the Radeon so thats why I want to keep the Voodoo as well.

I would only have the Voodoo setup under OS3.9 not the Radeon at all, I wont need the Ram as the 256mb on the Blizzy is plenty.

OS4.1 though needs the Radeon by the looks of things, can't wait to try that out

Steve.

Yep, Zetr0 agrees - He suggests the 9200 256mb - now how do we know what all these ones on ebay are, i.e if they're 3.3v or 5v?

if I am not mistaken only MAC's ever really use 3.3volt PCI gfx cards -

Anyway the Mediator is a 5volt PCI card bus

the way to know if a card is 3.3v or 5v is the notch in the card

see that clears everything up eh? =)

So without further ado - heres some nice 5v 9200 256MB radeon linkies

(New in box) ATI Radeon 9200 256MB PCI - TV-Out VGA DVI £26.98 Free PnP

(New in box) ATI Radeon 9200 256MB PCI - TV-Out VGA DVI £23.90 in postage
