"DIR" equivalent to "ls |more"

Hi there,

On my minimal 68000 machines (Minimig, Amiga 600) I use AmigaDOS without WB, in order to save memory for games/apps.
But listing a directory contents is not easy, because DIR displays all files in a single strike, thus hiding the first ones from me.

Is there a way to make dir display files and waiting for me to ask for more?
Like linux "ls |more", for example.

You can stop the output by pressing any key and continue by deleting what you entered.

With Dir I don`t know (some else will tell you). I just press spass for pause and backspace for continue. However, you could use pfsls form pfs3 packed what is an ls equivalent. Or you use CON replacement that supports history.

You could always create a script to output the dir output to a file, run it through more, and then delete the file.

Or use dir | more. You need a Pipe command installed.

You could try this Ls as well, has integrated paging support and 1.3 combartibility
