A600 Desktop "Box" :)

Just thought I’d share my A600 desktop “productivity box”.

It has the obligatory Zip drive (I love these things), Seagate IDE HDD, modified PC FDD & a Sony DVD-RW.

KCS PPC board in operation with half the HDD dedicated to an installed IBM version DOS5.0 package.

The KCS board provides an extra 1mb of RAM when in Amiga mode, but I want more…would love one of those nice Russian-made units, but not willing to provide my details to a money transfer service who’s URL ends with “.ru”

Buffered IDE interface strings all the devices together & there’s a PC keyboard adaptor to make life easy too.

Can’t find any 23 pin D-sub connectors locally, which is making it hard to get the rear panel sorted…as I’d like to be able to run a second external drive occasionally.

2.05/3.1 Kickstart switch on the rear, but I've never used 2.05 since I started building this one...guess I just thought it'd be cool to have...no matter how useless!

So yep, quite similar to my A600T, but not geared towards gaming…well, maybe some DOS games

LOL

this is true, but if one screwed stuff down you can bet you wont find a screw driver handy to undo it when you need to LOL

I so want to do an A1260 with PCI / Zorro mod in a nice desktop case! that will be MY idea of amiga

it just tricky finding the right chassis to begin with.
