I have the same problem.

I reached the last boss. But he is impossible to kill.

I have almost full lives, all continues left and 4 rockets... But nothing kill's him.

Youtube video: [ Show youtube player ]

He seem to need 5 rockets. But there is only 4 on the level. Bad crack perhaps? I used the Skid Row release.

I tried with cheat on (unlimited rockets). Then he dies with 5 rockets.

This game is using a copylock + MFM format. I wouldn't be surprised that like Robozone the copylock has not been cracked properly.

Theres nothing special about the Copylock.

Games loads the main code file, does the Copylock and then enters the menu options before the title sequence.

As far as I am aware, Arc developments didn't ever do anything meaningful with a Copylock other than a serial key check.

The Copylock is indeed nothing special, just returns the key in d0 and stores it at $60.w. I doubt there are checksums either but didn't check yet.

Disk 2 is bootable btw and contains the intro.

Pretty sure if memory serves (i'm remembering everything here!), it goes back to disk 1 for the end picture as well.

Problem for Predator 2, is its so fucking hard, I doubt anyone could reasonably complete it without cheating, hence why the 5th rocket bug has never been picked up on.

Arc also got a mastering error on Crackdown, so they're not too fantastic at quality control

I think you remember wrong. Or maybe Skid-Row fixed it to avoid unnecessary disk swapping.

Disk 1 contains the intro + the first 3 levels. Disk 2 contains only level 4 + the ending.

Anyway, I have given up on this game now.

How do these games actually get their game speed settinggs, do they use the RTC, loops or other methods that may be used to actually slow down gameplay a bit... i know its cheating a bit but there are some crazy hard games out there.

I had the original, and on the original, intro on disk 1 and end picture, and rest of game on disk 2

I think this explains everything.... Skid Row.

The Company also cracked a version.

Standard A500 has no RTC. Timing revolves around vblank (50/60hz).

I just had a look and I'm pretty sure the Kids Blow version is not 100% since you can't boot from disk 2 and thus won't ever be able to watch the intro. The code and everything for it is on the disk but since there's no bootblock you can't boot from disk 2 for obvious reasons. So either the NTSC version was made like that (contrary to the PAL version where you can boot from disk 2) or the Skid Row version is not 100%. I have my guess already.

The Company version is fine.

Disk 2 also contains an intro as I already wrote.
