Joystick/Joypad question

My joystick doenst work very well, but what i want to know is, joypads from Sega Mega Drive are compatible with the Amiga computers ???

I remember reading something about how an unmodified Sega controller could blow a chip on the miggy because it's constantly sucking +5V from your mouse port. However, there was a way to modify it (as suggested in the manual for Hired Guns) that would negate this problem.

A popular one to use around here is the official Sega Megadrive 6-button pad... I use these myself without problems and they are very comfy

All of the Mega Drive pads work, the Master System pads work, controllers for the C64 and Spectrum work... Practically every joypad with a 9-pin connector not designed specifically for the Speccy 128K +2/+3 will work.

In my opinion, the best single-button joystick is the Zipstick. The best multi-button stick is the Mega Drive Arcade Stick (first version). The best control pad is the Mega Drive controller. The best CD32 pad is the Competition Pro/Honey Bee.

I have been using a Sega Genesis 6 button joypad on my A600 for 8 years, and it never blew up anything. The unofficial pads DO ACT strange and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR USE on Amiga systems. I htink those really are dangerous. But the official Sega pads or officially licensed Sega pads should work just great.
