Was there ever a port of this for the Atari St? If not, did they start to write one for it?

I thought it was weird they make a demo for the Apple IIGS, but not the Atari?

Not for the ST as far as I know.
Just the Amiga, then Genesis and Mac versions..
And the almost completed IIGS version..

Sword of sodan and sidewinder sold me on the amiga.. bought my a500 a month later!
I seen it on a black and white tv lol but sound was hooked up on what was a awesome stereo at the time and blew me away! anyhow great game!!!!!

It looks pretty good, and the IIGS has pretty ok graphics capabilities, but an unexpanded IIGS can't play this game this smooth can it? To get SoS to run at that speed I guess you'll need some CPU or graphics accelerator?

No the demo ran on a standard IIGS I believe.

It was too bad they never finished/released the full game.
Looked technically very impressive...
