Which 5 Pin Keyboards work with the Elbox tower Keyboard adapter?
Hi All, If you have a tower with the Elbox keyboard converter could you let me know which make and model of keyboard your using. I assumed (it appears wrongly) that any 5 pin AT keyboard would work but I just bought one on ebay and it just flashed a few times then didnt respond. I started a thread earlier but it was suggested I might have more luck asking people to post what they know works. Rather than just buying every AT 5 pin keyboard that comes up on ebay and trying them all.
Alternatively if anyone has a keyboard that work with an Elbox Keyboard adapter they would like to sell. Pm me with a price Thanks Paul |

Can anyone help here I have tried two 5 pin keyboards so far both just flash the lock keys and do not work. Also tried 2 PS2 boards with a ps2 to 5pin adapter they do the same. Is my adapter broken or has everyone else found they only work with certain keyboards??

The leds on the keyboard lit up? They respond to caps lock/scroll lock/num lock?
Did you test the continuity of +5V/Gnd/data/clock from keyboard to the adapter? Also from adapter to keyboard controller on the Amiga? If continuity tests are OK, then you can blame the converter. |

Hi Thanks for the reply. I gave up in the end and ordered a new one which arrived this morning. Amiga now works perfectly!
Thanks Paul |

Hi Prowler,
well funny you should say that. As I had built up something of a stockpile of keyboards and adapters I tried them all yesterday! All of the original 5 pin din keyboards worked. All of the PS2 keyboards with a PS2 to 5 Pin adapter worked. The last thing I tried I wasnt really expecting it to work and it didnt but I had to try as curiosity got the better of me! A USB keyboard plugged into a usb to PS2 adapter then into a PS2 to 5-pin DIN didnt work. (hell you have to have a go) Paul |
