Nice one zetro, I think you've done a great job.
Shame about the (pathetic) rules laid out to you. Surely HOL even having such evil covers should be shut down altogether... Oh no.. that removes all kind of advertising for the lost format these guys continue to suck dry. Just my 2c. |

i do so share your view point KG, hardly seems fair at all... for one can google mobygames and several others and find case cover art, all artworks published in now defunct magazines is under UK law public domain so anyway.. I would most certainly of pushed this issued with AndreasM had I of had this on my site but this is EAB and i dont want EAB in trouble, lest be said moderators (whom have a hard enough job) getting thier butts chewed out over somthing this petty.
when i get some time to sort out TheBoss with a site/CMS for the amiga covers project, then I will also contact the leagal department and get full leagal backing to post such covers based on original artworks... as is our rights in the UK. but thats another story. I have discussed some matters with AndreasM, but he wishes that I donot disclose our email conversations, so as he wishes I will not diseminate our discorse here. when i get more time i will take this to the next level with a leagal argument with andreas but that will be another story. |

@TheBoss
congrats on getting in the issue!!!! I look forward to reading it!! kinda sorry that your good news has to be smeared by a load of contentious crap over nearly 10 year-old software. well done for getting in the publication ! |

@ Zetr0:
Yep, I share yours and KG´s view point, too. But Andreas is the copyright owner and I understand him. Although I would not compare piracy and cover artwork, our covers could have an effect on piracy. Bad luck Last edited by viddi; 09 December 2006 at 16:53. |

Indeed, I agree viddi, but I know for fact there are some leagle exceptions in reproducing and concerning cover artwork (records / cds / computer games and the such like) in the uk).
I will look into the matter further when i get more time |

Nice work gents, I wish I'd come across this thread properly earlier else I might have waded in myself. Glad the CD32 logo came in useful.
Yes my site is in need of some more logos (3DO, Fujitsu, Coleco, Dragon, Enterprise, Intellivision, XB360, PS3, Wii, GP2x) and machines... |

Here is Andreas´ message:
1. To what we said about HOL and The Legacy: "HOL and The Legacy showed policy and asked us BEFORE using the box scans. You at EAB worked on this custom covers first until a moderator asked for permission. I think everybody should know about my reaction. 2. Aside from what I mentioned above, HOL is a whole new ballgame! You at EAB created your own, new packages of our games. And of course this covers used our graphics, logos and texts with the effect of a genuine and original looking product of APC&TCP! 3. If someone has a broken package, box or equal, he/she can turn to us. Until now, we always found a solution. 4. We will never allow to spread or sell things that affect to be genuine APC&TCP products. 5. There will be no discussion about the things I explained above. I´m sure nothing reasonable will come out..." Okay, I hope my translation is fairminded. |

Guys I am sorry but I understand TOTALLY where AndreasM is coming from regarding this!
All logo's etc are his company's intellectual property.. |

DO any of you CD32 cover designers fancy helping out on my next DemoDVD? I am in desperate need of some artists to create some backgrounds? |

The Coleco, Fujitsu, PSP, PS3, Wii and XBox360 logos are all available at http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/ And by all means please back the site up, it wouldn't do any harm. Btw, do you think I should turn all the .ai files into EPS's? |

@Antiriad
Thankies ) .ai or eps... hmmmm I can use both so it depends on the most used and i supose the most storage space gained and obviously (the best quality), infact saying this i would say quality should stand out before all others... |

@Antriad i loaded your Amiga CD 32 logo into Xara Extreme just fine as it was however of late i am becomming very disillusioned with xara (.com) they've just released the pro version and i am not at all happy about the so called upgrades ie flash etc, and as i've worked with some photoshop users (damiend) etc i find i am making excuses for it all the time how it exports pictures etc!
The point of the post is please keep the format u used as it works for me even if my Art package is well and truly in the dog house at the moment however since i've been using it over 10 years i'll forgive it as it's the only one i'm any good with |

Guys, so these are CD32 covers ready for printing?. Most of them are really awsome, but I got one complaint though, some of you hasn't taken in consideration that these covers will of course be resized to smaller ones, I mean, the covers in this thread are much bigger than the cd cases, so when printing them in the size of the cd cases, some of the text in these pictures will get way too small to be read.
So, don't use too small font sizes in these covers. mho, nothing else. |

@Ironclaw be more specific which covers you are on about?
then we might be able to fix them if we need to also what software are u using to print them? (Amiga / Pc etc) The last software i used did re-sizeing all by it's self but it's been a couple of years since i printed a cover for cd/dvd or anything! I only did the 2 i did to help EAB as a community! Actually having read your post again is some considerations for printing covers maybe some of us havent looked at i am sure anything could be fixed |
