External floppy issue

I have 3 external floppy drives. After daisy chaining them only the one connected to my amiga 1200 works. The others are dead, if I try them direct in the Amiga, then they all work fine. I was told it could well be my power supply, so I tried 5 other spares that I have, Its just the same. So I removed my Blizzard Accelerator and my Indivision Mk2 CR thinking they were sucking out all my juice, and still its the same. Am I missing something here? I don't recall having this problem over 21 years agoish. Oh I forgot to mention at the back of the drives are switches and they say: OFF On and Antivirus...I tried all the different permutations.......Never did know what that Antivirus setting was for.

All the drives should be set to on. As for the Antivirus, It just checks the disk for er, viruses, when this switch is on.

Do DF1: and DF2: make any clicking sounds or even flash the LED briefly?

Do you start the 1200 with the drives connected or connect them after the 1200 has booted?

If you hold down both mouse buttons at boot time, are the drives showing in the boot menu?

Have you a Harddrive installed? If so, have you tried disabling it?

Thank you, they all work now, I was connecting them after it booted, for some reason I assumed they should kick in and be noticed by the Amiga while powered up.....Ta!
