Old dumps

Hi guys. I just noticed that a new set of dumps has been released, but was wondering if there was a problem with the last load I did? I uploaded them almost a year ago now, but they are still sitting on the ftp.

I know you guys are busy. I'm just curious to see if there was anything wrong with them?

If something is not released:
1, unsupported officially. (armour geddon)
2, same with an existing image
3, modified, picking randomly Campaign and Gunship 2k they are modified
4, time being very limited if it is something that already exists, it has to be obviously different as proper comparison takes time.
btw: Board Genius versions of those games have been out for a very long time, like #1124
5, budget versions of games that are known to be different in retail versions. (Seconds Out, Thai Boxing). Until we get the retail version dumped, more precisely an unmodified/undamaged retail version dumped those versions are held back if they are known to be altered versions of the original release. (in other words: the publisher did not have the master at all, or anymore and they just got the game hacked...). This is to ensure that the original version will be preserved - most people when do a search in the database would ignore that only a possibly hacked version is available.
Once we have the retail versions of those they will be released at the same time, see e.g. the latest releases for examples, like Rolling Thunder, Combo Racer or SkyChase all fall into this category.

Also in case you do not have the ipf images of the games already preserved (search our online database), please get in contact with Fiath or Interceptor to obtain the images.

Are the latest batch of releases going to be e-mailed out to their respective contributors?

Yes, of course.
As usual you should receive links to the temporary downloads. I haven't recieved my email, so I guess they haven't been sent out yet, but should be very shortly.
btw: thanks for the very nice dumps

Thanks for the response, IFW. Like I said, I was just wondering if I had done something daft like upload them to the wrong place, since I hadn't had any release e-mails since I had dumped them.

Oh, the version of Thai Boxing I dumped is the retail version, not budget. Published by Anco/Prism Leisure Corporation and released in 1987 (The manual states 1987, but the disk label states 1988). I have the box sitting here on my desk right now.

I was quite pleased when I found it at a car boot, considering how rare it is.

Actually it is a re-release.
It uses a Copylock version that did not exist at the time it was first published.

The original game uses Protec, the re-relase is Copylock.
Of course I know this because we have a modified dump of the original

Hmm.. interesting. The box is the top one in HOL (i.e. the big one with Prism Leisure on the back). But the disk scan isn't on there. The disk is similar to the one on the left, but it is dated as 1988 instead of 1987. I will scan it in when I get home so you can take a look.

Yeah, I have having some major trouble with FTP here (or actually, it seems, trouble with the provider I am using) and have not mailed them out yet. I have resorted to doing some HTTP uploading (which has taken ages), so I should get them out tonight. It looks like you don't have one though Craig, sorry!

In this batch, or in January? I'll investigate tonight when I will send the rest out.

To those reading, no, it has not been done yet - MS security patches broke our software. This has since been resolved, so we should be good for tonight.
