Ah, the classic version. A good choice sir That'd be 4,999 € then.

Sounds like a sensible statement by Mr. Haynie btw.

the question of what amigas would be like if they were still produced is like the pc
pc hardware x86 with styled identifiable cases runing workbench developed
from amithon so were it all went wrong was were the ppc was used
and aros is the thing people should be looking at all this big setback allowed
microsoft to develop directx and bring games market to windows

workbench could have had directx style api and the hardware

with out going into all details the akito chip was a last attempt to keep the chipset
going with planier to chunky like gfx it wasnt enough but was in the right direction

dam comodore fat cat a holes

there's an old saying the bigger the works the bigger the jerks

Dave!!!! nooooooooooooooooooooo, what are you saying!!!

Probably true though I'm thankful I lived through computings greatest ever period. One day I shall retire from my role as a technician and teach in a university... and on my Smartboard will be a picture of the Amiga.... and I shall stick the Psygnosis demo CD into my CDTV and show them EXCELLENCE in computing!

Then the students can enact a role play of Amiga vs. Atari! woohoo !

I wonder how that would have worked out. Would Bobby Kotick have managed the Amiga legacy better that Gould or Ali?
Bobby Kotick is an absolute douche and doesn't even like gaming! He only cares about money and wants to increase the price for games... He even wants to sell in-game cutscenes as movies for $30

Here's a few articles for anyone who doesn't know about the most hated man in the gaming industry:

thats just the problem with games nowadays, isn't it? They are no longer the product of the people that actually want to play them - its just a source of money.

This makes Aros the official successor of the Amiga operating system.
Problem is, there are a bunch of "purists" that would never use an Amiga on a PC.

If morphos & os4 developers joined the Aros project, things in the PC landscape would be *very* interesting.

I think the PPC is overrated by many Amigans. It's not even authentic. m68k is. So what? i386 being a CISC architecture is even closer to m68k in spirit than PPC.

It's not that I don't like PPC. I'd love to see a Cell in my desktop. But computers for the masses are PCs right now.

I prefer 3hrs of Cannon Fodder on a trusty old A500 . I can play Quake 2 (and 3, 4 etc.) anytime on my PC... which is still the best platform to play those games on
