turrican3 - wait, the link will be back up shortly (couple of hours).

Heula - I'm at a complete loss as everything works fine at my end (see pic below).

Have you installed anything onto the default install?

Have you enabled any of the optional patches from the settings menu? This didn't make any difference at my end anyway so shouldn't be the issue.

For me the packs all work the same - newicons for all of KGs packs, dots for OS3.5+/glowicons.

I'm not sure if I have install anything. The only thing I can think off is systempatch 2 but I did the same on Amigasys 3 plus.

When I had the sensible icon problem I installed newicons again. Maybe that's what the problem is?
Tried to enable or disable the optional patches but this didn't make any difference either.

That's your problem right there - ClassicWB doesn't require Systempatch or a Newicons install - they will conflict with its default setup.

Those two programs do things that are already built into the ClassicWB. That's why I said above that "I'm not sure if they will work now however, if you've been installing stuff over the default setup."

AmigaSYS should already have optimizations built in too - I would avoid installing patches on setups unless you know exactly what your doing. Workbench is a sensitive thing!

Oh yeah, forgot to add:

You don't need to start from scratch - backup your Software partition in windows (look in the ClassicWB/HardDrive drawer), re-install ClassicWB, then copy the software partiton back to its original place. Or simply overwrite the two HDF files (System_P96, System_ADVSP) with those from the original pack.

Did a reinstall of the Classic Workbench but still no icon visible. I don't get it anymore.

I'm sure you'll get there in the end.

It's always frustrating getting back into something and running it the way you like.

Yes it is and in the end it will work, I'm sure.

Maybe you can help me out with this one. http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=384769&postcount=99

I'm afraid I can't help you with that one. An AmigaSYS user will have to step in.

Dary (the author) is bound to show up sooner or later and I think a few users hang around here too. Sounds like it requires knowledge of the setup procedure in order to answer what's happening so he's probably the best bet.

I think most people have their own OS3.9 setups on EAB so help can be slow coming for the pre-installed packs.

I think this is a Scalos problem. The problem only seems to occur with ClassicWB ADV and above. ClassicWB FULL and anything with standard resolutions seems to work fine.

This is weird, the problem seems to be occuring for quite a few people, I've never personally had a problem in winuae or me real amiga, both with ClassicWB.

If we can get everybody to list their versions then maybe we can solve this problem?

I'm still not getting any issues - what version of WinUAE?

I'm using an older WinUAE v1.2 at the moment. Anyone with a real A1200 test?

Hehe, seems this problem is all over EAB

I've not noticed a single problem myself, and to be honest the only people reporting it are using WinUAE (from memory).

I posted this in the other thread also:

I can't reproduce the error with an older WinUAE v1.2 in any version of the ClassicWB. I'll try the latest WinUAE when I can....

What I do know is the icon system used (libs, scalos etc) has never changed in AGES....
