SSD/DOM boot problem

Hello

I',m having trouble booting into Workbench from my SSD/DOM. It is a 4 GB Kingspec with Classic Workbench 68k installed.

Often when I cold start or soft reboot I only see the bootscreen/insert disk screen. If I use c+a+a 1-3 times the SSD/DOM starts and loads into Workbench. Other than this the computer works fine.
I have tried using the same setup but with a CF-card and it always boots fine.

My guess is that the SSD/DOM is too fast for the Amiga? Could this be the reason? Is it possible to delay the SSD/DOM activation at start?

My setup is:
Amiga500+
Wicher 500i accelerator (50 mhz, 1,5 mb chipram, 8 mb fastram)
4 gb Kingspec DOM with Classic Workbench 68k.

I think you mean the Amiga is too fast for the SSD as it's not ready to boot from when the Amiga looks for it.

I am no expert, but I don’t think the Amiga possibly could be too fast for a modern DOM-card?

When the DOM tries to boot the Amiga is not completely ready, then the boot process fails.
I happens on ACA-acceleators using maprom function. It is solved by adding a command that lets the Amiga recover before the HD tries to boot.

OK! Thank you guys, i guess my assumption was wrong.

Have you experienced anything similar, and have any ideas how to solve the boot problem?

Kickstart 3.1 has a longer delay while waiting for drives to get ready - maybe that's a solution?
