you either don't use the right cable (have you ever used the GW to dump an original disk ?) I will try to help, in order to make an IPF out of your disks. |

Have you tried to image a different disk to rule out the floppy drive?

Yes I have. I created an .scp of a Kick Off 2 disk and that images and loads fine in Winuae

Without touching the surface of the disk hold open the shutter and rotate the disk manually by rotating the metal circle on the back of the disk.
Look to see the magnetic surface rotates. If it does, look at the magnetic surface for obvious areas of discolouration / dirt / mould on each side. |

Otherwise, check if the disk has disoldered from the central metal support in the floppy disk. If it has bad luck. Hope for you is that another guy (Dr Bong) sent me a RAW file, and i made an IPF out of it. Check in the zone. |

I said I could make a scp file and raw files from a known working disk.
I have already looked at the disk.. it rotates ok .. I`ll try a 50/50 IPA/water on it... see if that does anything. I`ll be very careful. It doesn`t have any obvious discolourisation or marks on the disk. |

I know it sucks that the disk isn't working, but maybe you could distract yourself by scanning?

Greetings!
Back in 1990 I wrote the code for the Amiga port of "Bill 'n' Ted's Excellent Adventure" in DevPac using a custom framework, if anyone has any questions pertaining to the custom bootsector loader or any other technical aspects of the game or its development. I also wrote the Amiga game "Dino Wars" so there is some code shared between these two games. The source code for both games is long lost. The code for BnT was last held by Off the Wall Productions (Michtron) and Capstone. It could be a fun project to reconstitute the source code for these games using a disassembler in an emulator. The code contains a blitter-based MFM encoder/decoder and Dino Wars has a custom algorithm to optimally draw large blitter objects with the data organized in vertical strips. The LZH decoder in BnT isn't too shabby, either. They also include a Tracker Player, and BnT includes a delta animator. |

Thanks for finding this thread. If you have anything from back in the day... development disks, partial source code, anything you can release we'd love it.
Even better if you had a working original copy. |
