Blizzard 1230 IV @ Amigakit
Link
Maybe not news to others, but a pleasant surprise to me while 'browsing'. £140 in box with 64mb of RAM may seem a bit steep to some for an '030 accelerator but IMO that's a pretty good deal: -No waiting for one to turn up on fleaBay. -Probably cheaper than fleaBay too. -New? Don't know, but boxed with all the bits - fleaBay? -Sold by a reputable dealer so you'll get support if problems - again, fleaBay? Who wants an '030 then? |

Wow! I didn't realize these were available either. Are these new old stock or what?

AmigaKit's page gives me the impression that he has a few in stock & makes no mention of them being refurbed / second-hand... ...so as you say maybe 'new'. Then again, Horace may have the truth of it. |

i'm just playing devil's advocate. certainly this is very convenient for a potential buyer, but there's no reason my own couldnt be packaged up with its original box and manual like that, since i've kept them since my original purchase back in... 1997?

Except for where it says "Stock Status: Refurbished/6 Month Limited Warranty" just below the picture.

When you buy it from AmigaKit, you at least know that:
a) You can send it back it it doesn't work; b) You can send it back if it breaks after 2 weeks; c) It's probably been tested; d) They won't run off to Nigeria with your money. AmigaKit are a great store and I'd prefer to spend the extra and get hardware from them. |

Has the Amiga bug again
|
If I had the money and was looking for one, I would not hessitate to buy from Amigakit rather than fleabay. Would buy from Amibay if it was £30 or more cheaper.

I did not see that. I wonder what "refurbished" actually means? Made sure it worked and all the original bits were in the box? Don't get me wrong, I'm not casting aspersions. I'm just curious. I've nothing but good things to say about Amigakit and if I needed one I'd buy it straight away. |

I suppose a quick clean, good test and that would count as refurbished. Adding the warranty is a risk Amigakit are taking by offering it. Not sure where they would get a replacement if it went wrong 5 months down the line. Getting any faulty one repaired would be not worth the cost I'm guessing.
