I use this pad now for a while and for most games it is really great.
But there is one game, DGeneration CD32, where it doesn't work that well: In this game the hero is moved mostly diagonally, by pressing Up and Right button at the same time, etc. But with my KTRL CD32+ it is not so easy to press two directions at the same time. I have to press the buttons very hard and sometimes it doesn't work at all. I also checked with the tool JoyPortTest and that verified it. Does anyone know a way to optimize the pad so that diagonal movements work better? Last edited by thyslo; 14 September 2022 at 09:10. |

Have been giving these goods use for a couple of years now and am still very satisfied.
It has seen so much use that I've managed to wear-out a couple of the buttons/pads though. MickGyver are you able to link to the generic game pad this is based on so I can buy a couple for spares? (is it just the first generic SNES game pad that comes up from an Ebay search?) |

I have a case where I'm crossing a series of pits (level 3, Prince of Persia whdload) I'm holding "left" all along and jumping once in a while with "blue". On a long continuous left press, blue doesn't respond and I fall in the pit (happens every time!)
doesn't happen with winuae of course. Didn't test with an original CD32 controller. Once I was aware of that, just a pause while running allows to pass the pits. Of course, apart from that particular issue, that game (and others) work great with it (Chaos Engine is an example, even if diagonals are essential to that particular game, I was able to pull them off perfectly, no need for my old Wico joy anymore) |

You can try stealing the rubber membrane and dpad plastics off another SNES controller. That's improved it somewhat for me.

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping to do. Any one in particular? (eg: a legit SNES pad? Or any old SNES-style USB pad?) Or are they all one-and-the-same in regards to size and/or quality? |

Legit SNES pads will have the best buttons and membranes by far.
Luckily reproduction membranes exist for legit SNES pads, those should work just as well. |
