Best of Bomb the Bass - £2.99

I am so very bored at work, thought I'd post this here as I was browsing the Play.com sale items.

It's the Best of Bomb the Bass for £2.99 and includes Megablast, the theme tune to Xenon 2.

WARNING this CD might not contain the music from Xenon II (but for £2.99 maybe it's worth the risk?)

The Bomb the Base track from Xenon II (Megablast -Hip Hop On Precinct 13 Mix-) is the 'B' side to the single "Dont Make me Wait", but there was another track from Bomb the Bass called Megablast which sounds nothing like it! (Some sort of RAP version)

As a kid I was very pissed off when I bought a Bomb the Bass Greatest hits with Megablast on the track list got it home only to find it wasnt the right one! It was another mix.

AFAIK the Xenon II track is only on the album "INTO THE DRAGON", the single "Don't Make me Wait" and Megablast CDTV

If someone buys this CD, please post back.

I have this album, it does not have the Hip Hop on Precinct 13 version, which is the one the amiga version is based on. Yes, it was cheap, and that is one of the reasons. There is also another Bomb the Bass song not included that some review said was "criminal" not to include. So not really a "best of". It may have been that one of the albums was with a different record company who owns those rights (don't quote me on that tho...).

Yes, as alexh said, the album Into The Dragon contains the relevant version.

EDIT: Added link to aforementioned review:

A german group called The Splash Band made a compilation in 1986 with rearranged tracks of the best Carpenter scores.

Bomb the Bass used samples from the first track "The End (Disco)" for Xenon II.

Assault on precinct 13 is also known as "Das Ende" in Germany, so they badly retranslated it to "The End".
